The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has requested that this Friday, June 16, which is the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, be a day of prayer and reparation for the many sins of blasphemy and immorality that are currently being celebrated in our culture. The Los Angeles Dodgers will be hosting the “Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence” as honored guests at their Pride Night.
The bishops are urging Catholics to pray the Litany of the Sacred Heart on the day the team hosts the group.
"This year, on June 16—the day of the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus—a professional baseball team has shockingly chosen to honor a group whose lewdness and vulgarity in mocking our Lord, His Mother, and consecrated women cannot be overstated," their statement read. "This is not just offensive and painful to Christians everywhere; it is blasphemy” states the USCCB.
Let us pray for this and the many other ways in which our culture has fallen off the narrow path. We pray for true repentance and conversion.
