Mary, I give you my Heart

Our Lady of Sorrows

September 15, 2024

Someone attempted to kill President Trump today.

AGAIN.

Whether or not you like President Trump, death is not the answer.

We should pause here and take a moment to thank God and his angels for his protection over President Trump’s life.

We should also take a moment to thank our Blessed Mother, Our Lady of Sorrows, today on her feast day.

No doubt she had a hand in stopping the attempted assassination.

Our Lady of Sorrows, please continue to pray for and protect President Trump and our country from all evil.

Why did I choose this feast day for consecration?

I chose Our Lady of Sorrows because of her sorrowful heart.

I wanted to unite my heart, my sorrows with her heart and her sorrows.

We all have trials we face in life but Jesus gave us his Mother so we wouldn’t face them alone.

My mom gently reminded me today to give my imperfections and our imperfect world to Our Lady. Suddenly I felt the imperfections lifted.

Marian Consecration is the most life transforming thing I have ever done.

Today, September 15, is my ninth year of consecrating my heart to Jesus through Mary.

“Mary knows the power of the Redemption, the power of merciful Love, better than anyone. In fact, John Paul says she knows it "more than any other heart in the whole universe, visible and invisible." Therefore, she calls us not only to conversion but "to accept her motherly help to return to the source of Redemption." For again, Mary's task is to bring us to the Fountain of Mercy, to the pierced side of Christ, to his Merciful Heart. Essentially, then, consecrating ourselves to Mary "means accepting her help to offer ourselves and the whole of mankind to the infinitely Holy God.” 33 Days to Morning Glory, Fr. Michael Gaitley
