Live Courageously

February 25, 2020

Wouldn’t it be nice to just be yourself?

To be authentic?

To know who you are and know it’s enough?

But this culture doesn’t want authenticity.

It wants us to be something we’re not.

It wants us to hide who we are.

To hide the parts of us that aren’t perfect.

The parts of us we rather not name but should name.

Things that make us different from everyone else.

Things we see as set backs or that make us feel less because we compare ourselves to each other.

We have to name them to acknowledge the struggle is real.

We all struggle with something whether t's something mental, physical or spiritual.

The embarrassing, hard and sad things. The things we have told ourselves to hide.

Example: Needing help from people in big things but also in small things. Not being able to do everything or be everything.

It’s exhausting trying to pretend or ignore the real things in life.

It's time to stop believing that the culture defines us.

Someone has to break this cycle.

Someone has to be bold.

Somebody has to be them self so others can be free to do the same.

It takes only one person to throw a rock and create a ripple.

Acknowledge the things you've been hiding and remind yourself to have courage.

It’s not easy being countercultural.

But it’s freeing and worth being the real you.

Don’t do it for the gram, do it for you!

Stop filtering your life and live courageously!
