Let Nothing

Today is St. Teresa of Avila’s feast day!

She was a martyr and is now a Doctor of the Church.

“Let nothing trouble you, let nothing frighten you. All things are passing; God never changes. Patience obtains all things. He who possesses God lacks nothing; God alone suffices.” St. Teresa of Avila

This is one of my favorite quotes from St. Teresa of Avila!

It reminds me to have courage and to take heart.

It reminds me that nothing else matters.

In moments that disturb and frighten us, turn our hearts toward you, God!

Nothing is more important!

Our everything to Him who made us!

Our thoughts and our actions to Him who loves us!

God alone suffices.

God who is love.

Let us lift up our hearts to Him in these moments when we lose focus of His love.

And let us pray with the words of St. Teresa, "Let nothing" come between us and God's love.
