It’s two weeks tomorrow since my device change.
I am amazed at how well everything went with the surgery.
The healing process has been smooth.
We left home at 4:30am to head to Spokane.
I really liked my nurse Michael and my device tech Megan. I mentioned before that these names made me smile because they are the same names of two of my close cousins.
My favorite nurse was Michael. He was funny and joyful. He did an amazing job with my IV and I didn’t feel the needle due to lidocaine. My mama was praying for him to find my vein and after he got it in he said he was praying too to find my veins and gave glory to God.
I said the hardest part is over, the IV. My mom laughed.
The neighbor I was sharing a room with wanted to visit.
The nurse aid gave me a funny look when I told her I wasn’t pregnant and just signed the waiver.
The procedure was quick and only took like 20 minutes.
I was lightly sedated during the procedure.
I was very sleepy but could still feel some of the motions but no pain.
The OR nurse made me feel very comfortable She was gentle and good at her job.
My doctor did some nice work going through the same incision I already had.
This new pacemaker should last another ten years, same as the life on the last battery. It’s weird to think I will be pushing 40 the next go around.
Good news is that this device is now MRI compatible and my other one wasn’t.
We left the hospital an hour after the surgery.
It was that fast!
I went to my one week check up and they were happy about how the incision looked.
I’’ve been able to manage my soreness with minimum ibuprofen.
It’s still healing and feels very bulky and sore sometimes but overall I am recovering really well.
I am still healing but I give thanks and praise for St. Padre Pio and all of your prayers!
It is through prayer that everything went so well.
Thanks be to God!
Padre Pio is proof of the power of prayer!
