Grandparents' Day

July 26th is the Feast of the Saints, Joachim and Anne!

Pope Francis declared the fourth Sunday of July as World Day for grandparents.

The Blessed Virgin Mary is their only child and Jesus is their only grandchild.

They are the patron saints of grandparents, holy families and marriages.

Bless all grandparents on this day

Thanks be for all they do and say

The Holy Family began

With Saints Joachim and Anne

They had only one child

At their daughter they smiled

Mary and Joseph were married

The baby Jesus they carried

His grandparents He loved and knew

Joseph's and Mary's hearts grew

And Joachim and Anne's hearts grew too
