Anoint my mouth

Updated: May 31

January 5, 2014

Lord, I am very aware of the damage I can too easily do with the words I speak. The power of life and death is indeed in my tongue, and too often I choose to speak words of death. Forgive me for using my words to condemn instead of to comfort...to hurt rather than to heal...and to bring others down when I could instead choose to build them up. Like King David, I am asking You to guard what I say. Send Your Holy Spirit to convict me before I speak words that would not be pleasing in your sight. Teach me to speak like the princess You called me to be, and bring words of healing to those I have hurt in my careless conversations.

In Jesus' name, amen.

Love,

your princess, who longs to speak graciously
