Heart Update

September 9, 2024

I am scheduled to have a cardiac device change on Monday, September 23, at the Heart Institute in Spokane.

Check in will be at 7:45am and the procedure is set for 9:45am.

This surgery is just changing out the battery.

I will receive light sedation during this procedure.

I hope to be discharged to home 4-6 hours after the procedure.

After one week I should have full range of motion but should avoid heavy lifting.

My scar/skin should be completely healed after 2-4 weeks.

It’s crazy that I have had this pacemaker for almost ten years.

I was in heart failure the last time I had surgery.

Thankfully this procedure will be much quicker and not as scary.

Anyway, I would appreciate all the prayers!

September 23 happens to be the Feast of St. Padre Pio.

He is the patron saint of healing and stress relief!
