Love casts out Fear

1 John 4:18

There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear; for fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not reached perfection in love.

This is my verse for the year.

My dear friend, Sr. Maria Kateri, who is a Sister of Life, inspired me to choose a bible verse for 2025.

2024 was a hard year on my heart.

I grieved with close family and friends.

My late friend Ralph and sweet baby Eden hold very special places in my heart and they both always will.

In the Fall, I had my first pace maker device change.

And a few days before Christmas I received a letter informing me, “With a heavy heart” (I think that was a pun intended) that my cardiologist of ten years was resigning.

This is the melancholic in me, ready to turn the page.

However, before I do, I will reflect and thank God for continuing to fill my heart with His love.

In 2024, my youngest sister got married, I have a new brother-in-law and I am now an aunt!

My family and friends have prayed and shown up for me this year and throughout all the years.

I continue to love meeting with my bible study groups and sharing my heart with others; whether that be through Substack or through heart to heart conversations.

There was much heartache and fear that I couldn’t control in the year past but I am choosing to replace the fear with love in 2025.
